The Red Sox are preparing a formal contract offer to Corbin Burnes, the final clear top-of-the-rotation arm available in free agency, after missing out on other targets.
While Burnes hasn't missed as many bats recently, he still produced an impressive 194 1/3 innings with a 2.92 ERA, making him a strong addition for Boston.
Predictions suggest Burnes could receive a deal worth between $250MM and $300MM, as the market for starting pitchers has been exceptionally strong this offseason.
Landing Burnes would significantly strengthen the Red Sox rotation, placing him atop a staff that includes promising talents like Tanner Houck and Brayan Bello.
