When Triston Casas is going, the Boston Red Sox know just how special he can be at the plate. Looking to end an injury-riddled season strong, Casas slugged three home runs to lead the Red Sox to an 8-1 victory in Game 1 of a day-night doubleheader at Fenway Park.
Just a really humble approach today, Casas told NESN's Jahmai Webster postgame. Came up with two outs and a guy in scoring position the first time. Just tried to put the ball in play.
Felt good to drive in some runs to get a win. Casas had two excellent performances, driving in seven of Boston's eight runs and showing his capabilities despite a challenging season.
Casas and the Red Sox embark on their final road trip Monday when they kick off a three-game series against the American League East rival Toronto Blue Jays.
