Chicago White Sox avoid arbitration with 7 players - including pitcher Dylan Cease - by agreeing to 1-year deals

The Sox have had conversations involving Cease, 'but I also know that we're not going to move a player like Dylan or anyone else unless we feel like we're going to benefit,' he said. 'So it's got to be right for all parties.'

Whether the Sox hold on to Cease - the American League Cy Young Award runner-up in 2022, when he went 14-8 with a 2.20 ERA - or deal him is one of the major questions remaining this offseason.

The Sox also announced they have named Jin Wong assistant general manager. He spent the previous 24 seasons (2000-23) with the organization.
