The Rakuten Monkeys of Taiwan's Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL) have signed right-hander Beau Sulser, who previously had mixed performances in both MLB and the KBO. Sulser, 31 in May, played for the Pirates and Orioles in 2022, with a respectable strikeout rate but mediocre overall ERA. After a tough stint in Korea, he returned to North America, bouncing around on minor league deals, and faced difficulties getting back to MLB. Joining the Monkeys offers him a better financial incentive and a clearer path to play regularly.
