These Are the Hottest Housing Markets in America-and 9 New England Metros Top the List
Briefly

In April 2025, the latest Hottest Housing Market report from Realtor.com indicates that the Northeast and Midwest are leading the country with strong buyer demand and low inventory. Manchester-Nashua, NH, and Springfield, MA have been identified as the top markets. In these areas, only 8.6% of homes experienced price reductions, indicating a robust seller's market. Other notable markets include Concord, HWorcester, and several Connecticut cities. Analysts suggest that constrained inventory levels maintain high demand, benefitting sellers while presenting challenges for homebuyers seeking affordability.
"Affordable Midwest markets and well-located Northeast markets continue to see strong buyer demand relative to the rest of the country," explains Hannah Jones, senior economic research analyst at Realtor.com. "Some of their sustained hotness is due to still-constrained inventory levels, which keeps buyer demand high and market pace brisk."
The metros on the list are seeing high buyer demand and quick home sales, which suggest sellers are in a more favorable position. On average, just 8.6% of homes in these markets saw a price reduction.
Sellers in the country's hottest markets can expect solid buyer attention and a quick home sale, especially for a competitively priced home, says Jones.
