Frigid temperatures did not deter crowds from attending Boston's First Night events across multiple city venues on New Year's Eve. Festivities included dance, live music, figure skating, ice sculptures, a parade, and fireworks. The Prelude of Boston juvenile Theatre on Ice team and Roger Wellington of the Skating Club of Boston performed during the First Night Spectacular. Artisan Dance Academy members posed for photos after their performance while Chu Ling Dance Academy presented Elegance of Dynasty. Handel and Haydn Society and the Museum of African American History co-presented the Emancipation Proclamation Concert at Trinity Church. Extinction Rebellion members joined the parade and attendees wore 2026 glasses.
