Secretary of the Commonwealth William Galvin has opened an investigation into the City of Boston's election administration, citing significant problems with insufficient ballot supply at various precincts.
Galvin emphasized that numerous polling locations in Boston lacked an adequate number of ballots, prompting police to intervene and deliver more ballots amidst long lines and delays.
In a letter to Boston Election Commissioner Eneida Tavares, Galvin underscored the need for better communication channels and plans for additional ballot delivery, highlighting systemic issues.
Despite the printing and delivery of over 766,200 ballots by the state, issues arose due to inadequate planning and failure to monitor polling place needs.
