Child killed, family injured in Plainville crash

Officials reported that a tragic four-vehicle crash Saturday night left multiple people injured and resulted in the death of a 10-year-old child.
According to investigators, Michael Escolas, 42, allegedly stole a Jeep from the Gillette Stadium parking lot before speeding down Route 1 and rear-ending a family vehicle.
After the crash, all six occupants of the Nissan Altima, including four children, were taken to the hospital, where unfortunately a 10-year-old was pronounced dead.
Escolas, who was charged with driving under the influence, was arrested and is currently under investigation following the serious accident that left one child dead.
