A 26-year-old mother rescued her 2-year-old son after their car crashed into the Ottauquechee River. Firefighters responded to reports of a submerged vehicle. The mother unbuckled her son from his car seat, cut through the deployed airbag, and emerged through the window. They swam to safety and were evaluated at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, with no serious injuries reported. The cause of the crash is under investigation, and rescue swimmers confirmed no one else was in the vehicle.
