Gen Z, often criticized for their fashion and tech choices, is surprising everyone by embracing physical books and reading. Last year, 80% of Gen Z book purchases were print books, and libraries are reporting an increase in Gen Z users.

Physical book sales in the UK reached a record level, with 669m books sold. In-person visits to libraries from Gen Z users increased by 71%. Gen Z readers are diverse in their preferences, with appreciation for literary fiction, memoirs, translated fiction, and classics.
