"Anatomy of a Fall," "American Fiction," "Past Lives," "All of Us Strangers," "Origin," "You Hurt My Feelings" and "Afire" are films in which the protagonists are writers, reflecting the lives and careers of the screenwriters themselves.
"Since it really was inspired by an autobiographical moment, it felt untrue to give her some other cool job, than the cool job that I do have, being a playwright," says Song.
