Nintendo has announced the release of Donkey Kong Bananza for July 17, showcasing a young Pauline character who plays a vital role in both the narrative and gameplay. During a recent Nintendo Direct, details were revealed about her abilities, including the capacity to transform Donkey Kong through singing, thus granting him new powers. The game promises diverse mechanics for co-op play and additional features showcased through newly released screenshots, including a skill point system and GameShare support.
The biggest twist compared to what we knew before is that a young version of Pauline is in the game and accompanies Donkey Kong on the entire adventure.
She can sing to turn Donkey Kong into one of several "Bananza Transformations," which can increase his strength and speed or add whole new abilities like flying.
These new screenshots give us a first look at all of that in addition to features like its skill point system, DK Paint, and GameShare support.
Donkey Kong Banaza launches exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2 on July 17. Make sure you check out GameSpot's Donkey Kong Bananza preorder guide if you plan on picking up the game or its Amiibo.
