Blue Prince is out on Switch 2 today, complete with mouse control
"This is a wonderfully designed puzzle game that oozes atmosphere. The game tasks players with exploring a gigantic mansion, but there's a twist. You actually build this mansion as you explore, room by room. This is done by placing what can only be described as magical blueprints."
"When you build yourself into a dead end, you go to sleep and end the run. All of the rooms reset, but you may have learned a thing or two for the next run. Rinse and repeat. It's a very nifty gameplay loop, which is why it easily found a spot on Engadget's list of our favorite games from 2025."
Blue Prince is a roguelike puzzle game where players explore and construct a mansion room by room using magical blueprints. The core mechanic involves building the mansion layout while solving mysteries, but with limited blueprints and numerous obstacles. When players reach dead ends, they sleep to end the run, resetting all rooms while retaining knowledge for subsequent attempts. This creates an engaging gameplay loop combining exploration, puzzle-solving, and strategic planning. The game features strong art direction and atmospheric design. It launches on Switch 2 with mouse control via Joy-Con and includes a $20 launch price, down from the standard $30.
