Baldur's Gate 3 has been immensely successful for Larian Studios, but with the studio stepping back, Hasbro is poised to take charge of the franchise's future. During a recent Game Developers Conference, Hasbro's Dan Ayoub hinted at their plans, indicating substantial interest in expanding the Baldur's Gate universe. Although there is speculation about a possible Baldur's Gate 4, Ayoub emphasized a careful and deliberate approach, saying that they are formulating their strategy without rushing, but updates will be shared soon.
Baldur's Gate 3 was a colossal hit for Larian Studios, but with Larian walking away from the franchise, toy juggernaut Hasbro is picking up the sword and shield and journeying on.
Talking to IGN, Hasbro digital games SVP Dan Ayoub confirmed during this week's Game Developers Conference that there are plans for Baldur's Gate and that there's a lot of interest in the potential of the franchise.
Ayoub certainly feels that it's inevitable, but nothing is in the works yet.
It's somewhat of an unenviable position. I mean, we're not in a hurry. Right? That's the thing, we're going to take a very measured approach.
