When Joe Biden withdrew from the 2024 race, Jotaka Eaddy's online gathering of Black women leaders surged in attendance, demonstrating their political power. This movement raised $1.6 million for Kamala Harris's campaign in just 100 minutes and inspired numerous supportive groups. Eaddy emphasized the importance of collective economic and political power among Black women. Win With Black Women was established to combat discrimination against Black women in politics, influencing key decisions like the confirmation of Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson and advocating for WNBA star Brittney Griner's return from captivity.
When we as Black women show our economic power, our political power, it sends a message to the country about our rightful place in this country.
Eaddy launched Win With Black Women in 2020 to counter racist and sexist attacks against Black women being considered to join Biden's ticket as Vice President.
