Spain has announced a 10.6 billion euro aid package to assist the victims of the devastating flash floods, which claimed over 217 lives and destroyed numerous properties.
The aid package features 838 million euros in direct cash handouts to small businesses and freelancers affected by the recent floods, alongside substantial state-backed loans.
Following the disaster, Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez underscored the ongoing efforts needed to address the chaos, highlighting that many are still missing under the debris.
Judicial authorities reported that at least 89 individuals remain unaccounted for, indicating a significant challenge in identifying the victims of the flood tragedy.
