MSNBC host Symone Sanders-Townsend warned that the recent deportations to El Salvador indicate a troubling trend that may soon extend to all people of color in America. During a segment with Rep. Glenn Ivey, they discussed the deportation of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, highlighting the lack of legal recourse faced by vulnerable communities. Sanders-Townsend emphasized the gradual dismantling of democratic principles under the current administration, with minority communities at significant risk. The discussion underscored solidarity within the African-American community in response to these actions, reflecting broader concerns about civil rights and immigration policies.
The lawlessness of the administration in such actions are canaries in the coal mine, gasping for air. If they could do it to them, they will do it to any of us.
That's certainly part of why the African-American community is so strongly behind supporting Kilmar. If they're going to whisk them away, what are they going to do with us?
