First Arrest of Many': Trump Promises More Arrests of Pro-Palestinian Protestors on College Campuses

President Trump recently announced the arrest of Mahmoud Khalil, a pro-Palestinian former graduate student at Columbia University, orchestrated by ICE under executive orders against anti-Semitism. Khalil was accused of leading activities associated with Hamas and was detained after agents revoked his green card despite him being a permanent resident. Trump's statement emphasized the beginning of a wider campaign against what he described as 'terrorist sympathizers' within U.S. universities, indicating further actions against students involved in similar activities across the nation.
On March 9, 2025, in support of President Trump's executive orders prohibiting anti-Semitism, and in coordination with the Department of State, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested Mahmoud Khalil, a former Columbia University graduate student.
Following my previously signed Executive Orders, ICE proudly apprehended and detained Mahmoud Khalil, a Radical Foreign Pro-Hamas Student on the campus of Columbia University. This is the first arrest of many to come.
