Brazil's Federal Police have stated that former President Jair Bolsonaro and 36 others were involved in a scheme to violently overthrow the democratic state following his 2022 election defeat.
Following Bolsonaro's narrow loss to Lula in 2022, his supporters stormed government buildings in an effort to create conditions for a military coup, raising serious allegations of possible instigation by Bolsonaro.
