More than two dozen anti-Israel protesters were arrested in New York City after demonstrations near the Met Gala turned chaotic, with vandalism in Central Park and burning of an American flag.
The protest organized by Within Our Lifetime resulted in arrests, including repeat offender Alvin Dan, previously involved in disruptive activities during last year's Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
One protester, Leila Nouri, faced felony assault and resisting arrest charges amidst the chaos that unfolded as over 1,000 protesters attempted to reach the Met Gala location.
The protesters defaced World War I and Civil War memorials, including burning the American flag, as part of the 'Day of Rage' protest by the Palestinian activist group Within Our Lifetime.
