At the RADL GRVL second edition, Brendan Johnston beat 2024 winner Tasman Nankervis, while Tiffany Cromwell triumphed despite fatigue. As a co-founder of the event and shortly before the women's Tour Down Under, Cromwell's instinctive sprint clinched her victory over Melisa Rollins. She reflected on her unexpected strength during the race, citing the thrill of women-only competition. Other racers faced challenges, including mechanical issues and falls, which influenced the race dynamics. Overall, the race highlighted the fierce competition and resilience of female cyclists.
Cromwell stated, "I didn't have huge expectations if I'm completely honest ... But you know, it's just great to be able to race against the other women and not do a gravel race with our race dictated by the men."
"It was good to have a strong field and somehow I had the legs today," Cromwell said after her victory, emphasizing her unexpected performance amidst fatigue.
