'There have been some good ups this year, but mostly a lot of downs' - Jasper Philipsen reflects on opportunities missed after Tour de France crash
Briefly

Jasper Philipsen crashed during the Tour de France on stage 3, leading to his abandonment due to fractures in his ribs and collarbone and severe road rash. Despite initially leading the green jersey standings, he expressed the difficulty of recovering and preparing for upcoming races. Though a debut in the Vuelta a España is uncertain, he noted that his focus has shifted as major season goals have passed. Philipsen stated this season has been particularly tough, mentally and physically, after suffering multiple crashes and missing competitive opportunities.
Philipsen, who won the opening stage of the race and headed up the green jersey standings after two days of racing, went down hard in a collision with Bryan Coquard at the intermediate sprint on the road to Dunkerque.
It's clear the biggest goals of the season are behind me. The upcoming races are good, but they're not at the same level as before.
Every rider has a bad season at some point in their career; let's hope this is mine. But it's not pleasant. There have been some good ups this year, but mostly a lot of downs.
