Marta Cavalli is returning to competitive cycling at the Tour de Suisse after overcoming serious injuries sustained during the 2022 Tour de France Femmes. Training at Mount Teide has provided her with improved confidence and physical readiness. While not favored for the general classification, she's focused on gaining feedback from this race as part of her preparation for the Italian championships and the Giro d'Italia Women later this season. Cavalli aims to leverage her recent altitude training and build momentum for the remainder of her competitive season.
It wasn't the first time I went [to Teide], but last year it was a different context, where I was recovering from an injury.
We’ll see what feedback I get, without having set myself any goals. Usually in the second part of the season, I do better, so I hope to reap the benefits soon.
