The 2025 GWM Mountain Bike National Championships in Australia faced extreme weather challenges, impacting race lengths significantly. Despite these hurdles, Rebecca Henderson emerged victorious, claiming her 12th elite cross-country title against fierce competition, including Isabella Flint. Henderson faced a crash early in the race and battled through intense pain, reflecting on the experience as one of her toughest yet. Her resilience was evident as she acknowledged her competitors' support, and she celebrated not just her win but also her team's new direction with Orbea Factory. The race showcased determination amidst adversity, marking a memorable event in cycling.
I crashed in the first lap and I couldn't shake Izzy and I was in so much pain and by the end I couldn't use my left arm.
I thought last year was tough with my ankle; this one really takes the cake. On reflection, I think that was one of my gutsiest efforts to date.
Thank you Isabella Flint for that hard battle and all the girls that called out while I was on the ground and picking myself up.
That was torture; I hated every second of that.
