Oh Oakland, Did you Really Leave a Telephone Pole in a Bike Lane? - Streetsblog San Francisco
Briefly

As I returned from checking bike signals in Alameda, I encountered a shocking road safety issue: a wooden telephone pole obstructing a newly built sidewalk-level bike lane. This doesn't happen in car lanes—immediate consequences would follow. Why is this negligence tolerated? It's unacceptable and poses serious risks for cyclists, especially during nighttime rides.
Apparently, PG&E's delay in relocating this telephone pole left it right in the middle of the bike lane. The oversight seems egregious; there are construction barriers for car lanes but none for cyclists. One can only wonder what city officials were thinking to allow such an obvious safety hazard to persist without any temporary measures.
