Briefly

Michael Valgren of EF Education-EasyPost suffered a fractured collarbone during a crash at Tirreno-Adriatico, leading to doubts about his Classics campaign. After finishing eighth at Strade Bianche, Valgren did not continue the race following the crash and was confirmed to have a broken right clavicle. This injury could sideline him through the upcoming cobbled Flemish Classics but he may return in time for the Ardennes races. Valgren has previously shown strong potential after recovering from a serious accident in 2022.

Valgren will likely miss out on the cobbled Flemish Classics that kick off fully at the E3 Saxo Classic on March 28.
Valgren could still make it back in time for the hilly Ardennes Classics that start with another race he's won in the past, Amstel Gold Race.
Having shown signs of his previous best three years after his near career-ending crash at La Route d'Occitanie in 2022, Valgren would be one of EF's co-leaders.
