Figures show real number of official complaints about Lime bikes in Brent
Briefly

The statistics obtained through a Freedom of Information request reveal the Brent Council receives fewer than one official complaint a week about Lime bikes, contradicting council leader Muhammed Butt's claims of regular complaints about bikes being strewn across paths. However, Butt argues that these figures mask the full extent of the issues as complaints are often sent through other channels.
Cllr Butt emphasized, "You only need to take a walk down almost any street in Brent to see that badly parked Lime bikes are a widespread problem that needs resolving by all parties." He points out that while fewer complaints are recorded officially, many are raised via phone, social media, and direct emails to councillors, indicating a broader concern among residents.
Since the council ordered Lime to address these issues, Cllr Butt has reported an "unprecedented" number of supportive messages from residents, further illustrating the community's frustration and desire for action regarding Lime bikes in the borough.
The council has given Lime a deadline to remove its dockless bikes from Brent unless safety concerns regarding poorly parked and abandoned bikes are addressed, indicating the seriousness with which the council is treating the situation.
