Brent Council has warned Lime to remove its dockless bikes from the borough if safety concerns remain unaddressed, highlighting increasing complaints about bike parking on pavements.
Brent Cycling Campaign stated that banning the popular shared bikes is counterproductive, urging for collaboration instead to provide sufficient marked bike parking areas and improved enforcement.
Council leader Cllr Muhammed Butt emphasized the necessity of resolving unresolved issues in Lime's proposals, reaffirming the goal of increasing cycling across Brent despite ongoing challenges.
Lime expressed its commitment to addressing the issues stating, "Banning bikes won't help anyone," reinforcing their willingness to cooperate with Brent Council to improve the bike-sharing situation.
