France's Loana Lecomte crashed heavily at the 2024 Paris Olympics, suffering head trauma and a 'relatively minor jaw injury'. Her coach reassured she would recover and come back stronger.
Lecomte, a pre-race favorite, was in the mix for a medal before her crash during the cross-country mountain biking event. She had to be stretchered off after the incident.
Lecomte was part of a chasing group behind Pauline Ferrand-Prévot, who eventually won the gold medal. The crash happened during the descent in the rock garden section of the race.
