Budget shortfall to blame for second cancellation of CIC-Mont Ventoux in June
Briefly

The CIC-Mont Ventoux, a UCI ProSeries men's race previously scheduled for June 17, 2025, has been cancelled, marking the second consecutive year of its absence. Financial difficulties, including losing sponsorship revenue and difficulties securing funding for broadcast costs, were cited by race director Nicolas Garcera. The event had also faced a scheduling conflict with the Olympic Games. Concerns over safety and public road usage have also been highlighted by the organizers. Despite planning changes to the route and securing participation from top teams, economic instability proved too challenging to overcome.
In all transparency, these new developments mean that we are currently short €50,000 to produce and televise the race. That's nothing, and it's huge at the same time.
While the budget had been finalized for several months, and the teams' roster had already been validated, the unstable and difficult economic context is catching up with us.
The biggest problem is the lack of respect for others, cycling has no stadium and is 'disturbing' on public roads.
The event did not take place due to a date conflict with the Olympic Games torch relay in June, in advance of the quadrennial event in Paris.
