
Inferno Theatre presents a modern retelling of Shakespeare’s Love’s Labour’s Lost, featuring the King of Navarre and three friends devoted to study and avoiding women until they meet the Princess of France and her three girlfriends. The show runs from May 23 to June 14 at John Hinkel Park Amphitheater, with free admission and donations appreciated. Ayelet Waldman presents her comedic novel A Perfect Hand about love and subterfuge in 19th century England, joined by Michael Chabon, on May 21 at Mrs. Dalloway’s Bookstore. Berkeley Playhouse stages Cats from May 22 to June 21. A drop-in workshop with Xinchen Li teaches line, gesture, and sculptural drawing using 3D pens on May 23. A library exhibit celebrates the Berkeley Community Chorus and Orchestra’s 60th anniversary through June 13, with related programming leading to a Terezin Requiem premiere June 12–14.
