Lytos Vodka is the first patent-protected electrolyte-infused vodka, created by Billy Fanshawe, a Towson University alumnus. It has the potential to reduce hangover symptoms, appealing to those who enjoy spirits. Fanshawe's journey to patent involved collaboration with Towson's chemistry department and took over three years. The company is expanding its reach within Maryland, Delaware, and D.C. through a new distribution agreement. Fanshawe credits a local bar's pickle shots for initially keeping the business afloat in its early days, tying the product to creative drinking experiences.
With support from Towson University's chemistry department and insights from our founding member Alex Zephir, we pushed through the challenges to secure our patent.
What if the booze you drank on a night out helped keep you from getting a hangover the next morning? That's part of the thinking behind Lytos Vodka.
