Wait, and wait some more: Alexander Nubel's status as Manuel Neuer successor at Bayern Munich tabled for review
Briefly

Although he had been designated as 'heir to Manuel Neuer's throne', Alexander Nübel is now by no means certain of being Neuer's successor. Bayern want to wait and see how Nübel performs at Stuttgart next season. Only then will a final decision be made.
It's not easy waiting around for the GOAT to retire. Neuer, 38, is now on a year-to-year basis for Bayern, but sticking around even one more season is bound to leave the situation with Nübel in a delicate spot.
Having arrived from Schalke as a younger keeper, Nübel is now at a point where he needs to be a No. 1 somewhere. And continual loans, with his future uncertain year after year, is a situation that is unlikely to cut it for much longer.
