Report: Bayern Munich to miss out on Arsenal's Takehiro Tomiyasu
Briefly

Arsenal are lining up a new long-term contract for Takehiro Tomiyasu to ward off Bayern Munich. Tomiyasu has admirers at Bayern, where he is believed to be on a list of possible targets when Thomas Tuchel looks to add a defender to his squad in the coming windows, although Arsenal clearly want to keep the Japanese defender.
Arsenal will reject any approach from Bayern Munich for Takehiro Tomiyasu. The German giants have been linked with a January move for Tomiyasu as they bid to bolster their defence - but Arsenal have no plans to sell the defender as he is viewed as a valuable member of the squad.
But how concrete is Bayern's interest in Tomiyasu? Profile aside, the Japanese star is likely to take part in January's Asian Cup - along with Bayern's Kim Min-jae. Two other Bayern defenders are set to participate in the Africa Cup of Nations (Noussair Mazraoui, Bouna Sarr). If Bayern needs reinforcements in the next transfer window, the club may need to strike early and get someone who will actually be around in January.
