Bayern Munich's goalkeeper Manuel Neuer will not participate in the Champions League quarter-final second leg against Inter Milan due to a long-term injury sustained last month. Despite travelling with the squad to Milan for support, his absence adds to Bayern's injury woes which include key players like Jamal Musiala and Alphonso Davies. Bayern aims to overcome a 2-1 deficit to progress further in the tournament, where the winners could face either Barcelona or Borussia Dortmund. Domestically, Bayern remains strong, leading the Bundesliga by six points with five games left.
"Manuel Neuer will not play due to injury but will travel to Milan with the team in order to support it," Bayern said in a statement.
Neuer has been absent for over a month after he sustained an injury in Bayern's win over Bayer Leverkusen in the last 16.
Bayern are also in top spot in the Bundesliga, holding a six-point lead and five matches left to play.
The winners will face either Barcelona or Borussia Dortmund in the last four.
