Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington experienced a power outage on May 16 due to technical issues attributed to high winds. No injuries were reported, but the outage decommissioned the entire park for the day. Several rides were stopped, including at least one roller coaster that halted mid-ride. Riders were able to exit without being stuck in an upside-down position, but they had to walk down a steep set of stairs to get off. Footage showed riders holding railings while descending the stairs. Six Flags stated the issue was resolved and the park reopened the next day.
"On May 16th, the Six Flags park experienced what a spokesperson described as " technical issues " attributed to high winds. No injuries were reported, but the outage decommissioned the entire park for the day including several rides, with at least one roller coaster halted mid-ride."
"The stopped coaster was fortunately not stuck in one of those awkward upside-down positions, but riders did have to walk down a knee-liquifying height of stairs to get off. In a video posted to X, some riders can be seen holding onto the railing for dear life as they make their way down which, same honestly."
"According to Six Flags, the issue was resolved and the park opened for business the following day."
