The Atlanta Falcons' offseason discussions are heavily focused on Kirk Cousins' future, as the Pro Bowl quarterback is eager for a change after being benched last season. Although the Falcons have expressed their willingness to keep him as a backup, head coach Raheem Morris has acknowledged the possibility of a trade if the situation is mutually beneficial. Cousins, owed $27.5MM next season, is reluctant to waive his no-trade clause before the draft, which could limit interest from potential teams. Financial logistics remain a challenge as the Falcons navigate his substantial contract.
There's definitely a human side when you want to see him go out and be the best version of himself. This is not a thing where we're holding you back if the opportunity presents itself. If it's something that's good for both of us - it's good for the Falcons and Kirk Cousins - we certainly would like to see that happen.
Cousins has made it clear he wants a change of scenery after one year in Atlanta. The 36-year-old old inked a four-year deal to join the Falcons last offseason, but he was benched late in the year in favor of first-round rookie.
