Jurickson Profar is set to rejoin the Atlanta Braves lineup after dealing with a bone bruise in his wrist sustained while diving for a ball. Initially fearing a serious injury, tests confirmed the bruise, allowing for a best-case scenario. After a week of recovery, Profar resumed batting practice and will have ample opportunity to prepare for the opening day, where he is expected to lead off in the batting order due to Ronald Acuña Jr.'s ongoing recovery from knee surgery.
Profar is scheduled to return to the #Braves lineup Thursday and play the rest of the spring games.
The Braves feared the worst a couple weeks ago when Profar dove for a ball in the outfield and appeared to seriously injure his wrist.
Profar went for tests immediately after the game that revealed a bone bruise in his wrist, which was a best-case scenario for the outfielder.
With Ronald Acuña Jr. still rehabbing from his knee injury, Profar is expected to be Atlanta's leadoff hitter to begin the season.
