Atlanta Braves Minor League Recap: Hurston Waldrep excels, Ozzie Albies homers in Stripers win
Briefly

"Hurston Waldrep was solid once again for the Stripers as he pitched into the sixth inning of the Stripers 4-3 win over the Jumbo Shrimp. Hurston registered 15 whiffs in the game, and was feeling himself at the start of the game - coming in around 97 MPH with the fastball. Hurston did not face much traffic - having given up just three singles and a pair of walks. Hurston retired the first seven hitters to start the game before giving up a single and a walk in the third inning, but never really had much stress."
"This extended his stretch of strong pitching performances to three games where the righty has gone 1-1 with a 1.06 ERA, while allowing opponents to hit .246/.333/.246. He's now made 8 starts for the Stripers and has a 3.38 ERA in 40 innings pitched."
"While the season hasn't gone exactly the way Hurston wanted it to, as he struggled with command and more specifically success with his fastball, he battled and put together a really solid season. The next big thing for Hurston to really focus on this offseason will be to take that fastball to that next level - whether that be altering its shape, adding a different type of fastball to his arsenal because once that is done and he shows continued success with command we will see him in the big leagues."
