This exhibition not only highlights Rego's artistic prowess within the context of their intimate relationship but also includes personal notes integrated into her pieces. Director David Glasser expresses honor in exhibiting Rego's unseen pieces, emphasizing her unique ability to convey deep sentiments through art. The collection runs from June 11 and marks a significant homage to Rego's legacy as an influential artist.
We are greatly privileged to be showing this work. We admire Paula Rego's bravery, creativity, imagination and ability to deal with difficult but important subjects.
These are works that were given to him by Paula during their 26 years together... except those of us who can't paint would write our affection on a card.
