The Philadelphia Museum of Art reverted to its original name on February 4, five months after adopting the Philadelphia Art Museum (PhAM) identity in October 2025. The reversal followed the resignation of chief marketing officer Paul Dien and a task force-led survey convened by Director and CEO Daniel Weiss. Trustees, staff, members, and local residents responded mostly negatively or with confusion, citing objections to the new URL (visitpham.org) and other brand assets. The museum board voted unanimously to restore the historical name that the institution had used for 87 years. Weiss stated that the renaming lacked sufficient justification and failed closer scrutiny.
