Cosm, the art space founded by Alex and Allyson Grey, is set to unveil its second-ever exhibition, Inner Sanctums, on March 15, coinciding with a blood moon lunar eclipse and the vernal equinox. Featuring 14 contemporary visionary artists, this exhibition highlights a time of renewal celebrated globally. The Greys' journey from LSD-inspired artists to influential figures in the art scene illustrates the intersection of transformative art and spiritual exploration, as they utilize Cosm as a sanctuary for this purpose, helping to foster a deeper connection between art and personal renewal.
"The vernal equinox is an auspicious time of year, celebrated by cultures worldwide as a time of renewal," Alex and Allyson Grey explain over email.
"It seemed, at the beginning, along the lines of the standard art gallery format," says Jacaeber Kastor, a New York-based psychedelic artist.
They are opening their new exhibition Inner Sanctums, featuring works by 14 artists from Judy Chicago and Bo Bartlett to the South African sculptor Daniel Popper.
The fledgling sanctuary for spiritual renewal through contemplation of transformative art, decamped for Chelsea the following year, hosting its inaugural full moon ceremony.
