Juxtapoz Magazine - Old Haunt: Casey Weldon @ Thinkspace Projects, Los Angeles
Briefly

Thinkspace Projects is showcasing Casey Weldon's 'Old Haunt,' his fourth solo exhibition. This collection features a vibrant array of artwork inspired by the social lives and real-world scenarios of Weldon's friends, blending personal observations with introspective themes. Weldon aims for his work to be accessible and narrative, intertwining humor with nostalgic pop culture references and reflections on nature. The goal is to engage viewers and provoke curiosity about each piece, inviting them to interpret the narratives or create their own interpretations, often finding elements related to cats woven throughout.
Old Haunt is a menagerie of ideas Weldon has collected over the last couple years, inspired by real-life scenarios he has witnessed and his introspection.
My intent is to be narrative, accessible, and hopefully pleasurable to look at. I definitely like to involve a lot of nostalgic pop references.
