Tech leaders are currently divided on the impact of AI on employment, with some predicting that it may lead to significant job losses, while others argue it will create new and valuable roles. Key figures like Anthropic's Dario Amodei suggest a possible 50% reduction in white-collar jobs, contrasting with Nvidia's Jensen Huang's more optimistic outlook. Yann LeCun supports Huang's view and emphasizes that humans will remain in control of AI technology. Meanwhile, Demis Hassabis believes that AI will enhance technical jobs and encourages young people to pursue STEM education to thrive in this evolving landscape.
I agree with Jensen and, like him, pretty much disagree with everything Dario says. Our relationship with future AI systems is that we're going to be their boss.
AI would create very valuable jobs and supercharge technically savvy people who are at the forefront of these technologies.
