When trash becomes a universe - Harvard Gazette
Briefly

The art collective TRES, consisting of ilana boltvinik and rodrigo viñas, uses washed-up bottle caps and other trash from Australian beaches to create an exhibit named "Castaway: The Afterlife of Plastic" at Harvard's Peabody Museum. Their project aims to reframe perceptions of trash, showcasing how debris transforms into inspiring art and functions as a habitat for aquatic life. TRES previously sought beauty in overlooked waste materials, inspired by their past work in Hong Kong, where they questioned the origins and travels of found items. Through their lens, trash becomes a narrative of life and transformation.
"Even our debris has become a platform for other types of life." - ilana boltvinik
"One of our main concerns is to try to offer a different perspective on trash," said viñas. "We're proposing a more intimate relationship with our residues."
