In an example that went viral, someone searched 'cheese not sticking to pizza,' and AI Overviews suggested adding '1/8 cup of non-toxic glue to the sauce to give it more tackiness.'
Liz Reid, VP of Google Search, called the viral AI Overviews examples 'odd and erroneous' and alleged 'a very large number' of them were 'faked screenshots.'
Despite some humorous mistakes, serious issues arose, like regurgitating misinformation. Google responds to feedback and aims to address errors in the AI Overviews system.
