Ring camera alerts are about to get a lot smarter
Briefly

Ring is introducing a new feature called Video Descriptions that provides AI-generated text alerts for motion detected by their doorbells and cameras. Rather than simply stating the type of motion, notifications now describe the specific activity observed, helping users quickly assess whether action is needed. This feature is rolling out to Ring Home Premium subscribers in the US and Canada, and aims to refine the information users receive to focus on the main subject and their actions, enhancing overall home security monitoring.
Now, instead of an alert that says 'Front door: person detected,' you'll get something like 'person with broom and mop is leaving.'
In a blog post, Ring founder Jamie Siminoff said the feature is designed to deliver only the most relevant information.
