Nvidia autonomous vehicle platform 'in full production'
Briefly

At the GTC Paris event, Nvidia announced its DRIVE AV software platform is officially in production, designed to enhance automotive AI capabilities. Although it supports advanced driver assistance features such as surround perception and automated lane changes for level 2+ and level 3 vehicles, true level 5 autonomy is not expected this decade. Nvidia's VP Ali Kani stated that the complexity of developing AI that can adapt naturally to diverse driving conditions is a significant hurdle, contrasting with the pre-defined actions of current systems.
Nvidia’s DRIVE AV platform, now in full production, sets the stage for AI-driven mobility with modular capabilities, though fully autonomous driving is still a decade away.
Ali Kani confirmed that achieving level 5 autonomy requires a natural learning ability in vehicles, which is significantly more complex than current driver assistance technologies.
