Nvidia Announces Robotics-Oriented AI Foundation Model
Briefly

Nvidia unveiled GR00T, a foundational model for intelligent humanoid robots capable of understanding natural language and emulating human movements. This innovation aims to enable robots to learn coordination and interact with the real world by observing human actions.
The Jetson Thor systems-on-modules, leveraging the latest Blackwell graphics architecture, provide 800 teraflops of eight-bit floating-point compute power to support GR00T. Nvidia also introduced the Nvidia Isaac Sim platform for robotics simulation to enhance robot design and testing using AI.
Nvidia has developed the Nvidia Osmo compute orchestration platform to facilitate large-scale training of GR00T robots by coordinating training and inference processes across different Nvidia systems. The company also introduced the Isaac Lab application, optimized for running numerous parallel simulations to support robot learning.
