I wasn't a translator, but I had to learn about the technologies in English and then translate them into Portuguese. My freelance translation work is flexible and fits around my job as a university teacher.
With the introduction of AI tools, it's now possible to translate as many as 1,200 words an hour, and my workflow has improved massively. AI has made me more creative and efficient, but I don't think it will replace me.
